UV filter

UV filter is constructionaly intended for blocking UV light which doesn't allow total efficiency of blue light. UV light is very weakly present on sea level, but in higher areas there's more of it. What interests me the most with UV filters is objective protection, and if you ask me, it is must have part of equipment on every objective, except if objective itself isn't cheaper then adequate UV filter. My honest advice is when buying objective to also buy adequate quality UV filter that you won't need to remove almost never again. Reason for that is clear, it's better to damage 50$ filter then 2000$ worth objective or to destroy compact camera that has no possibility to replace damaged objective.
